Level 1 Intro to Improv
All Classes held In-person at Theatre 99 (280 Meeting Street)

This 6-week class is super fun! You will learn the Theatre 99 method to create improvised scenes based on audience suggestion. Students in level 1 will participate in group games and exercises that help everyone remember how to play. The focus will be on having fun and learning how to start an improv scene. You will learn some of the improv games that we perform here at Theatre 99 and get to do them for your friends and family during the recital. MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO TAKE THIS CLASS.

COVID -19 precautions: all students must wear masks and remain socially distanced at all times.

Instructor: Greg Tavares

Greg is the co-artistic director of Theatre 99. He started improvising in 1985 and has done thousands of shows and taught hundreds of classes. He wrote the book Improv for Everyone and has taught at improv festivals all over the US. Greg has a BFA in acting and an MFA in directing. He co-founded Theatre 99, The Have Nots, Piccolo Fringe Festival and the Charleston Comedy Festival.
