R.W. Smith is a playwright, director and actor. He has written or co-written five plays including Horse Tranqs & Carriage People, Lowcountry Boil (the sequel to Horse Tranqs), Whit’s End, Sam’s Corner, and The Complete History of Charleston for Morons (co-written with Greg Tavares). Directing credits include Horse Tranqs & Carriage People, A Number (remounted for Piccolo Spoleto) and Killer Joe. Some acting credits include The Seafarer, Shining City, Grace, Beauty Queen of Lenane, American Buffalo, Killer Joe, and Death of a Salesman. His work at Theatre 99 includes Neckprov, 3-Play, The Complete History of Charleston for Morons and a proud member of the Theatre 99 Company.
